AGB EV Charging App

Overview

During my tenure at the company, I had the opportunity to collaborate on developing an EV charging app with my colleagues. It was an enjoyable experience working alongside the designer, developer, product manager, and business owner. I was tasked with developing the map system, voucher functionality, connector details, designing new pages, and enhancing some aspects of the settings page


We gathered , analyzed, user and business requirements through your PO and Product manager.

Background

As the entry point to the patient's medical record details, the medical records section sits at the core of the patient dashboard—it’s the first thing users see when they open the patient card from the dashboard. Previously, the original design did not include the patient's medical records. However, as our features improved, we began encountering challenges, particularly around accessing patient medical records. During a demo with a clinic interested in connecting with ours app, a question came up: "How can staff members effectively view patient records?"

Competitive analysis

I researched some competitors’ EV app to find inspiration. What I took away were


  1. A map feature that allows users to locate nearby charging stations, plan routes based on charging availability, and receive real-time updates on station status.

  2. Monitor battery status, range, charging history, and other relevant vehicle data.

  3. Design the app with a user-centric approach, prioritizing simplicity, intuitiveness, and accessibility

I researched some competitors’ EV app to find inspiration. What I took away were

My colleague and I have put together a demo that includes charging animations, charging details, and step-by-step instructions for EV charging.

My wallet

This represents the points available to the current user, which can be utilized for charging the car. Points are earned through various activities such as participating in promotional events and can also be exchanged with currency system

I have also created a voucher code system when user can apply their voucher to get discount when charging. When users have a voucher code, they simply need to enter it before the charging process, and the discount is automatically applied to their total charging points.

Reflection

I’m proud to work on such a large-scale project from the very beginning. Thanks a lot to my partner and my team for believing in me and i have learnt to collaborate with engineer and hand off final deliverables. During the process, i have also done a lot of iterations and present them to the product manager and iterate based on my guidance of product manager and product owner. IF there was one thing i could done is to improve the user research and if i have more time , i would continue to gather user feedback and make improvements on v2.
